We will be learning the about different alternative energy technologies, visiting renewable energy sites and talking with industrial leaders of these technologies in Brazil. Visit to Sao Joao Landfill

Museu do Futebol
Today we visited the Futebol (soccer) museum in Sao Paulo. We learned about why futebol is important to Brazilian culture and it got us excited for the upcoming world cup here in Brazil!

Experiencing Brazil
We learned about Brazilian history and coffee on Friday from our Brazilian Culture Professor, Gustavo!
Saturday we went to Liberdade, which is the asian town of Sao Paulo. Sao Paulo has the largest Japanese population outside of Japan in the world!
Sunday we visited Villa Madalena, the bohemian area of Sao Paulo with many restaurants and shops. It is known for it's very interesting graffiti.

Today we went to visit CPFL Solar energy company. We learned about how they distribute renewable energy into the grid in Brazil and their plans to expand more renewable energies in Brazil in the coming years.

We learned about the history of São Paulo and toured the historical downtown where the city was founded.
Then we got açaí bowls as a snack afterwards, which is a traditional Brazilian fruit smoothie type snack.

Survival Portuguese lesson and Brazilian lunch!
